Up Late: 12/28/11
So my cousin sent me a link to a review of Royal Dansk Butter Cookies and it reminded me of how I’ve kind of gotten away from reviewing the particularly mundane things in my life.
Tonight, I had a severe headache because I’ve played about 30 hours of Deus Ex: Human Revolution in the past 3-4 days. I took a nap and intended to go to sleep, but woke up an hour later, hungry.
So, I made myself a tiny feast.
The traditional mini-sandwich of my youth was the circular Ritz cracker with Kraft American cheese sandwiched in between, but tonight I had to improvise with Club crackers and then some weird ass cheddar and bacon cheese slice thing in my refrigerator. Not exactly what I was looking for, but alright.
Next up was the dessert portion because, let’s be honest, you never want to do savory without sweet. So I did a Noah’s Ark thing with snacks around the house, including two of these weird powdered sesame-ish cookies left over from Crunkmas, two shitty M&M cookies (the M&M were small, unlike the kind of cookies that are delicious and have giant ones), and then two weird circular butter cookies.
The powdered cookies induced a minor allergic reaction, but were nonetheless the tastiest of the three. The M&M cookies were serviceable, but ultimately mediocre. The butter cookies were wildcard because until tonight, I hadn’t eaten them before. The first one tasted like fish, unfortunately. It was a crappy dessert, all things considered.
I’d eat a bag of Famous Amos, but I’ve already had like eight in the past four days.
